Visiting Lake Louise, Moraine Lake and Jasper areas. Again spectacular sites but one more time the only internet access available was sitting outside at Lake Louise Square on the park bench....

18 June

This little bit should have been posted prior to the Drumheller visit!!
While in Brandon, we visited the 582 feet Swinging Bridge. I don’t like heights but I did go across….. We also visited the Bird Sanctuary at the same locations and saw a beautiful peacock.

On June 13, we left Brandon and visited Glenn’s sister in Pangman, SK – population 260!! Then we spent a couple days in Regina to visit Glenn’s Mom and his brother, and also visited the RCMP Museum. To date, we’ve had mostly cool, windy and rainy weather.
On June 18, we left Regina. Flood alert in Southern Sask and we’re heading for Medicine Hat on the Trans-Canada. Once we reached Swift Current, we had to detour to the North as the Trans-Canada was flooded and closed. It was a good thing as we went through Drumheller and it gave us a chance to visit The Hoodoos, the Royal Tyrell Museum and the Horsethief Canyon. Today we are in Canmore, AB. We visited the Three Sisters Mountains and back to the campsite to finally update the website. Tomorrow - off to Banff.”

Hello from Manitoba

We arrived in Brandon on Saturday afternoon, our 5th day of travel. We crossed Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota and part of North Dakota States. We found that there wasn’t much to see on this route but the roads were good and weather was very good. Approximately 50 miles prior to crossing back into Canada, we came through the little town of Rugby which is the Geographical Center of North America. We will be staying in Brandon for approximately one week visiting with Glenn’s sister Diane and her family. So far, we have driven approximately 2700 km and a lot more to go.

On the road!!

Hello all,
We’re finally on the road. We left Kingston at noon yesterday and stayed overnight in Parry Sound. Camp Day today, and yes we did go for breakfast this morning at Tim Hortons on Bowes Street in Parry Sound before we left. Just because I don’t work there anymore, I haven’t forgotten!!
Tonight we are stopped at Clementz Campground in Newberry, Michigan – nice & quiet and very friendly.
Till the next time….
