We left Dawson City early in the morning to board the George Black Ferry to cross the Yukon River. It carried only few vehicles and took 7 minutes to cross the river.
From there we headed to the “Top Of The World”!!
Then it was only few kilometers before entering Alaska!
Once we entered Alaska, the road was extremely rough and mainly gravel. We stopped at the Village of Chicken (population 21 in the summer and 6 in the winter);
then we went on to Tok where we stayed overnight. Because of the rough gravel road, we had to spend a couple of hours to clean up all the sand and dust off everything inside the trailers. For lack of finding real bears, we settled for a wooden bear!!
