July 20th - Leaving Whitehorse to re-enter BC. On the way, we visited some small falls called the Rancheria Falls, YK

We drove the Cassiar Highway (Hwy 37)to enter BC and stopped in Jade City overnight. It's not so much a city as a highway community made up of jade businesses. The Princess Jade Mine in the Cassiar Mountain Range, accounts for 90% of the world's jade supply.

Again, this highway has many beautiful scenery to offer,

Mont Edziza (9,143 feet) is a dormant volcano and the park has a glacier, cinder cones, craters and lava flows.

We deviated from the Cassiar Highway to visit Stewart, BC/Hyder, AK. Stewart and Hyder are at the head of Portland Canal, a narrow saltwater fjord that forms a natural boundary between Alaska and Canada. Stewart is Canada's most northerly ice-free port.

Visited some beautiful falls and glaciers and finally made it up to Salmon Glacier.

Getting some FRESH water!!

Playing on a small glacier.....

From the boardwalk, viewing salmon spawning in the Fish Creek

Bear feeding on elderberries

strolling down the creek looking for salmon....

found one and running away with it!
